David Lindqvist joined Alden Advisory in 2015 and launched M&A Integration as a formal practice the following year, in response to a wave of UK banking consolidation.
Background
David's view of integration work is shaped by a pattern he saw repeatedly before joining Alden: integration plans that were meticulous about systems and almost silent on decision rights. Two merged institutions can have their technology fully consolidated and still be functionally split, because nobody resolved who has final say when the two organisations' former leaders disagree.
He has led integration engagements across banking, wealth management, and asset management, and is known for insisting that the first 100 days plan name specific decision owners for specific categories of decision, rather than describing an integration committee structure in the abstract.
David works closely with Isabelle Moreau on the cultural integration dimension of every deal, and reviews the value-capture measurement approach on all M&A engagements before they're signed off.
