Four stages. Clear deliverables at every step. You always know where we are, what comes next, and what we need from you. This page explains exactly how a Quell Studio project works — from the first scorecard to the final handoff.

When you reach out, we review your current website before responding. Within 24 hours we produce a completed Digital Presence Scorecard — your site scored across 8 dimensions with a total out of 100, a priority list of what is costing you clients, and clear separation between quick wins and structural problems. We send it before our first call, at no charge. The call then starts with a specific diagnosis of your situation, not a generic pitch about us.
Most agencies open a design tool when a brief arrives. We open a document and start asking questions. This stage is about fully understanding the gap between where you are and where you want to be — and applying the Translation Methodology specific to your vertical.
For law firms: we run the Client Language Audit — mapping every service to the client problem it solves. For architecture practices: we define the Project Story System framework for every portfolio piece. For consultancies: we run the Clarity Session — a structured positioning workshop that produces the brief for the entire site.
The strategy stage translates discovery into a concrete plan. You approve the positioning statement, messaging hierarchy, site architecture, and conversion goal for every page before we open a design tool. Most redesign failures happen because this step is skipped — the foundation is wrong and the design amplifies it. We do not let that happen.
Every visual decision is made in service of the strategy you have approved. We wireframe every page before designing — you see the structure and logic before the aesthetics. The design is a system, not a set of screens. We build in clean, hand-written HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. No page builders. No WordPress. No bloat. Fast by default, mobile-first throughout, two rounds of design revisions built in.
We do not hand over a password and disappear. You receive everything you need to understand, manage, and build on the site independently. DNS setup, hosting configuration, Google Analytics and Clarity setup, a full Loom walkthrough of every section, and a written maintenance guide. Then 30 days of post-launch support so anything that surfaces after go-live is handled immediately.
Not statements we put on a wall. The decisions we make every day on every project.
The biggest reason professional services websites fail is not design quality — it is that they describe what the firm does in internal language rather than the language clients use. We translate first. We design second.
We do not open a design tool until you have approved the positioning, architecture, and conversion goals. Every design decision that follows has a rationale you have already agreed with. This is what prevents expensive late-stage changes.
If your messaging is generic, we say so. If the brief changes scope, we tell you the cost and timeline impact. If we think a decision you are asking for is wrong, we say it and explain why. We work best with clients who want the truth.
A shared Notion document is updated at every stage with current status, next steps, and outstanding items from you. You never have to email asking for a progress update. The project is always visible.
Everything we build is hand-written, documented, and owned entirely by you. No proprietary platform. No subscription you have to maintain to keep your own site live. Any developer can continue from where we leave off.
Beautiful design that does not generate qualified leads is an expensive decoration. Every visual decision is traceable to a business outcome. We ask "why does this serve the client?" before we ask "does this look good?"
Some studios build dependency into the deliverable. We do not. You leave the project with complete ownership and zero obligation to return to us.
Clean, well-commented HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. No proprietary framework. Any developer can pick it up and continue without needing to reverse-engineer anything.
Every Figma file, every exported asset, every image. Organised, named, and documented so a new designer can work from them immediately.
The colour system, typography scale, component rules, and spacing guidelines. Your team can create new pages and maintain visual consistency without involving us.
Send us your current site. We score it, send you the Scorecard, and have a 20-minute call. No pitch, no commitment — just a clear diagnosis of where your site is losing clients.
