One office. Deliberately.
Mercer & Stone has operated from a single office in the City of London since 1987. Cross-border matters are handled through established co-counsel relationships, not branch offices.

Growth was never the ambition.
We have had opportunities to open in New York, Singapore and Dubai over the years, and have turned each down. A second office dilutes the thing that makes the firm useful to clients: everyone who touches a matter is in the same building, reachable directly, and working from the same institutional memory.
For genuinely cross-border matters — and international arbitration frequently is — we work through established relationships with counsel in the relevant jurisdiction, coordinated from London. It's a different model from a multinational firm, and we think it's a better one for the kind of work we do.
