Biography
Sophie Lindqvist joined Mercer & Stone in 2010 and made partner in 2019, working closely with Eleanor Whitfield to build the firm's institutional commercial arbitration practice alongside its treaty work.
She acts primarily under ICC and UNCITRAL rules for financial institutions and energy clients, with a particular focus on enforcement strategy.
Philosophy
"What do clients misunderstand about arbitration?"
That an award is the finish line. It isn't — it's only valuable if it can actually be enforced, and we plan for that from the day the arbitration begins, not after the tribunal has ruled.
