Biography
Rajiv Malhotra joined Mercer & Stone in 2018 and was promoted to Senior Associate in 2023, supporting Eleanor Whitfield and Sophie Lindqvist on institutional and treaty arbitration matters.
He has worked on the firm's energy treaty arbitration practice since joining, including its highest-value award to date.
Philosophy
"What do clients misunderstand about arbitration?"
That the tribunal will fill in gaps left by imprecise drafting in the arbitration agreement. It won't — ambiguity at the drafting stage usually just becomes an expensive procedural fight later.
