Biography
Priya Anand joined Mercer & Stone as a lateral hire in 2015 to lead the firm's Insolvency & Restructuring practice, having previously built a contentious insolvency practice at a rival City firm.
She advises secured and unsecured creditors, directors and boards through cross-border restructurings, with a particular focus on recoverability assessment before litigation strategy is set.
Philosophy
"What do clients underestimate about commercial disputes?"
That a legally strong claim against an insolvent counterparty can be worth less than a weaker claim against a solvent one. I'd rather tell a client not to litigate than let them spend two years enforcing against a company with nothing left to give.
